Ms. Lyon started teaching math in 1999 and has been teaching at the Crested Butte Community School since 2003.  Our secondary math leadership team has completed a multi-year effort to align our curriculum to the Colorado Academic Standards and is in the process of integrating 21st Century College and Career Readiness Skills.  Our grading practices reflect our shared belief that academic grades should reflect what students know and are able to do in math.  Consequently, all summative student work is scored according to the following standards-based scale:  5 = Mastery, 4.5 = Approaching Mastery, 4 = Proficient, 3.5 = Partially Proficient, 3 = Basic (see below).  Students may complete test corrections in order to demonstrate a partially proficient level of understanding on summative assessments.
